Current in the '60s, these unexpectedly fast V8-engined Daimlers were at the municipal end of the limo industry, but many were used as embassy cars or for high-ranking public servants such as the commissioner of the Metropolitan Police. The King of Thailand had a special Landaulette version which he still owns. The Daimler Hire fleet, which supplied cars for royal use, among other things, bought 50 as soon as the model was announced in 1961. The Queen Mother had a Majestic Major, and rumour has it that the Prince of Wales still has one.
