If Hitler were still alive, this is what he'd be driving around in. From the '60s right through to the '70s and '80s, this 6.3-litre, 130 mph, air-suspended, power-everything super-limo was the ultimate dictator's car, favoured by despots of all political colours (because it didn't have the Imperialist connotations of a Rolls or a Cadillac) as well as most of Germany's chancellors. Chairman Mao is said to have had 23 of them and Idi Amin had three. They were the preferred transport of Hirohito, Mubarak and Tito, and even the Pope had one. Curiously, the German government didn't own any 600s but were lent them by Mercedes, which retained a fleet to be used as required. Today a Landaulet is still wheeled out for special state functions in Germany, but you are more likely to find Gerhard Schroder in the back of an A8, S-Class or 7-Series.
