Volvo is celebrating its 75th anniversary. On the 14th April 1927, the first ever Volvo, the OV4 "Jakob", with a side-valve four-cylinder, 28 bhp engine rolled out of the new Volvo factory in Lundby. Since then, the company's product range has included sleek sports cars, high-performance saloons, curvy convertibles, sensible run-arounds and yes, estate cars. Volvos are famous for safety and durability, qualities that have occasionally produced some pretty stodgy cars, but lately, it's been coming over a bit sexy. We take a look back at 75 years of Volvo, decade by decade.
