The Mustang is intended as a big volume player, not the niche halo product that the even more retro Thunderbird represented. So when it goes on sale later this year, Ford intends to bring it in under $20,000USD, a price that'll put it well within reach of blue-collar America. Early ones could well demand a bit of a price premium, but that won't last long as production and supply rapidly ramp up.
There are no plans to introduce a right-hand drive version of the Mustang, nor does Ford plan to officially import left-hand drive versions, as Vauxhall has done in the past with GM models such as the Corvette.
There are, though, reputable importers such as Bauer Millett in Manchester who will happily bring these cars in - these will likely be high-spec V8 models, and they won't be cheap. Alternatively, braver buyers could import a car privately, not a bad option if the pound remains strong against the U.S. dollar. And with its Mondeo-sized footprint, the Mustang wouldn't prove a handful on our roads.
