Saab is saving the 9-6X for the Detroit Motor Show next January, but we will see the facelifted
9-5: a redesigned exterior, overhauled cabin and revamped engine line-up including the GM-Fiat 1.9 diesel and a more powerful Aero model. There are also rumours that we could see a
concept previewing the 9-4 crossover, albeit with a coupe bodystyle.
Seat's main story will be the all-new
Leon range, but there'll also be a sported-up Altea FR; fellow Volkswagen Grouper
Skoda is to launch the powerful new-generation
Octavia vRS, to come with the Golf GTi's 200 bhp turbocharged 2.0-litre engine. And there are whispers of a Fabia-based mini-MPV/estate, too. Korean manufacturer
Ssangyong is to launch the
Kyron, successor to its huge Musso 4x4.

| Toyota Yaris |
Like Saab,
Subaru is saving more news on its 4x4 (Tribeca) for later: but it has something else to promote: the refreshed
Impreza, as seen already in Japan. Fellow Japanese firm
Suzuki will be bringing its new
Grand Vitara out to play, though: it's the first of its new 4x4 line-up, with a smaller model co-developed with Fiat also on the way. This'll have to take on the all-new
Toyota RAV4, though, making its debut in Frankfurt too. Toyota is also showing a city car concept called
Endo, the latest
Yaris, the
Hilux pick-up, diesel
Aygo and
Corolla Verso models and the
i-unit single-seater as seen at the New York show earlier this year.

| Vauxhall Astra TwinTop |
Vauxhall - in its Continental guise as Opel - is playing the 4x4 game as well, with a concept previewing the successor to the
Frontera. There's also the
Astra TwinTop - a coupe-cabriolet with metal folding roof - and hot
Vectra VXR.
Volkswagen has stalled its
Crossgolf SUV, though, which will not appear; instead, there'll be the
Golf R32 (the most powerful Golf yet made), the
Jetta saloon and the production version of the
Concept C convertible, which is to go by the catchy name of
Eos. VW may also reveal details of its
SuperTurbo combined
supercharger/turbocharger technology, shortly to debut in the Golf range. And finally,
Volvo. The
C30 small family hatchback won't make an appearance until Geneva next spring, but the Swedish company will launch its much-improved new-generation
C70, and we wouldn't rule out a
concept car, either.
