The Smart EV, with its 30kW electric motor, has now been confirmed for production, although for the moment, it's only going to go out on lease to selected fleets as part of a trial. With its 72-mile range between recharges, and a 70mph top speed, it promises to be a more practical, versatile solution than some of the two-seater EVs already on offer - and of course, it qualifies for exemption from the London congestion charge and for zero excise duty as well.
