Another British debut is that of the second-generation Land Rover Freelander. It's on the latest Focus/Volvo S40/Mazda3 platform, so it's quite an international affair, but it is to be built in Halewood, near Liverpool. It gains Range Rover-style looks, a larger cabin and the Volvo 3.2 straight-six engine, as well as the Ford-PSA 2.2 diesel.
