Monster Mania is a new series charting the trucktastic thrills and spills of the 2005 European Monster Truck Racing Series.
This isn't just a glorified stunt show: it's a real racing championship, in which 1,750bhp 5,000Kg trucks race head-to-head in a flurry of wheelspin, dust and methanol smoke.
With monster trucks capable of reaching 60mph from standstill in just five seconds, their big 540 cubic inch V8s, superchargers and methanol injection, other forms of motorsport look like racing radio-controlled cars in comparison.
All the trucks feature four-wheel drive, four-wheel steering and super-strong suspension, so they can jump unbelievable heights and distances, only to drive off afterwards completely unscathed - well, most of the time at least.

The race series takes place across six weekends at a variety of outdoor showgrounds up and down the country, with one championship round taking place each day. Each round consists of qualifying heats, races and finals to decide the top four places, with seven trucks in contention for the 2005 crown.
Monster trucks race head-to-head on two identical courses, with three obstacles of increasing numbers of scrap cars to drive or jump over, and are timed to within a 1/1000th of a second.
