Scion Exile
(Matt Sperling, CALTY Design Research)
Scion is Toyota's youth brand in the US, but the upmarket Exile is designed to look like an exotic sports car. It's more practical, however, with a clever boot which doubles as a movable, extendable, wheeled cargo pod-cum-storage locker.
The Exile could "whisk its individualistic occupants to the snowy slopes, sandy beaches and hip nightlife all in the same day" and "accommodates all LA has to offer".

Smart Rescue Vehicle
(Hubert Lee, Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design of North America)
The new transportation for Baywatch babes? The amphibious buggy-style Smart Rescue Vehicle has the usual mid-mounted 800cc Smart engine, coupled with a jet pump for propulsion on water, but is rearranged into a four-seat layout with the driver sitting high as in a powerboat.
It is "designed for the adventures and tasks that a lifeguard endures on a daily basis, such as first aid, beach patrol, safety and water rescues."
We're sure it'll accessorise nicely with red swimsuits.
