Mercedes-Benz Mojave-Runner
(John Gill, Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design of North America)
A petrol-electric hybrid with night vision, sandstorm radar, GPS sensors and its own hydrogen fuel cell generator to power tools and rescue equipment, the Mojave-Runner could cope with rough terrain, extreme heat and adverse weather conditions.
Neat touches include adaptive tyres that change their tread depth as conditions require and a lightweight exoskeleton-type frame of carbonfibre and pressurised aluminium tubing that can store air for pneumatic power tools.

Mitsubishi Roadster Konzept (MRK)
(Mark Kim, Mitsubishi Research & Design of North America)
This one almost looks production-feasible - "Mitsubishi's take on a future compact roadster".
It's a two-seater with a rumble-style seat that can morph into a four-seater or fold up for doubled cargo area. It showcases Mitsubishi's in-wheel electric motors, which give it 280 bhp distributed to all four wheels plus an extra 80bhp from its rear-mounted petrol engine.
