People say, you can afford it, why don't you race cars? Well it's a bit like sex, we all think we are good at it but I wouldn't try to make a living being a porno actor!
One year I was invited to drive in the Toyota Pro Celebrity race at Long Beach, which was great. But soon I realised that one or two of the drivers were taking it more seriously than the rest of us. Like any good driver, I wandered round checking the pressure in the tyres. But next to me there was Parnelli Jones, down on his knees filing the tread on the tyres to get more grip.

So the race starts. I reckon all the cars have brake lights, right. So I decide to slip in behind Dan Gurney, another one of the greats. As his brake lights come on, so I brake. It all seems to be going well. And then, by the third lap I find Dan is behind me.
A few years ago, I was asked to drive the pace car at the Indy 500. They said would I like to come down a month before and do 50 or 100 practice laps. Would I? Of course!
Now Indianapolis is one of the widest tracks in the world. At 70 miles an hour I was marvelling at how big it seemed. Then, as I got up to 100 it started to feel a bit skinnier, narrower. By the time I got up to 140 it was very narrow indeed.
