The Bizzarrini trademark is now owned by an Italian consortium called VGM Motors, which plans to revive the exotic sports car brand. The curvaceous GTS 4.4V unveiled in Geneva may not look much like the creations of former Ferrari, Alfa and Iso designer Giotto Bizzarrini, nor the cars he sold under his own name, but it does have a very credible high-performance engine: the Alpina-developed BMW 4.4 V8. This develops 530 bhp and 524lb ft, and propels the car from 0-60mph in less than 3.9 seconds, giving a top speed of 360kmph.
VGM Motors also plans to sell replicas of the original Bizzarrini GT Strada and P538, plus "a new edition, with modern features, of the Bizzarrini GT Strada" and, bizzarely, is working on a new twin-cylinder superbike, with 500-600cc "designed for Supermotard competitions, as an innovation to the brand itself."
