Premiering on the Smart stand at Geneva was the Smart Forfour Brabus and revised Roadster Brabus, but also on show were two Smart Forfour Style Concepts. These cars feature translucent body panels in place of the Forfour's standard plastic ones. Although officially not going into production, the show car panels were made using standard production tooling from widely-available materials. The bonnet and front wings are also see-through and show off the engine and suspension components. The airbags and wiper and indicator stalks can be seen through the clear dashboard too. If the public responds well to these concepts, Smart may offer translucent-panelled cars across its range.
Bizarrely, a troop of actors dressed up as Inspector Jacques Clouseau scurried about Smart's show stand too, promoting the starring role the Smart Fortwo plays in the new Pink Panther movie, released by the end of the year.
