Peugeot has previewed its 407 Coupe at the Geneva Motor Show. The car on display, called "407 Coupe Prologue", "strongly hints at how the forthcoming 407 Coupe will look when it hits the showrooms in early 2006"; it's very close to the final production car. Styled by an in-house team, it has a chrome-plated two-piece grille, extra fog lamps and three side air vents, and at the rear, an integrated bootlid spoiler and twin chromed exhaust tailpipes; it sits on 19-inch alloys. The cabin of the show car is trimmed in red leather and aluminium, with a black lacquered fascia and five-dial instrument panel.
A 200bhp-plus version of the new V6 HDI diesel engine provides power through a six-speed sequential-shift gearbox. Adaptive xenon front headlights, front and rear parking sensors, laminated side windows and a full telematics set-up all feature, and will make it into the production car.
