Lamborghini has presented its Concept S at Geneva. Although it is based on the Gallardo, it's not a pre-production Gallardo roadster as such: instead of a windscreen, it has a tiny deflector to direct air over the occupants' heads, and its cabin divided into distinct compartments to create a futuristic look and to channel air to cool the mid-mounted engine. It is described as an "extreme interpretation of an open car", and designer Luc Donkerwolke is said to have taken inspiration from single-seater racing cars of the past. Further features include an electronically-controlled, retractable rear-view mirror, a huge rear diffuser and aerodynamically efficient front and rear spoilers. It's "a new design study that renews a great Lamborghini tradition".
