Once seen, the Audi TT is never forgotten, even now. More than eight years since its launch the TT has not lost its incredible ability to turn heads and drop jaws, never mind that there seem to be millions in circulation.
The new TT - on sale this weekend - will probably carry on from where the old one left off, even though it isn't as pretty. So why not grab yourself a classic 90s design, which is becoming more affordable by the day?
Both the coupe and roadster look perfect either parked up or thundering past on the road. So the Audi TT has become a design icon, but it also seems to stack up as a performance car, thanks to its rasping turbo engines and sure-footed four-wheel drive system.
Yet the TT has been a highly controversial sports car too. Early on, stability problems resulted in high-profile accidents that almost ended its career before it had begun, before Audi reacted quickly to put things right. More recently, there have been doubts surrounding the TT's build quality, but it rightly remains one of the most popular sports cars of our time.
