It's really a Ford Cortina, even if it looks like half a Sierra. That means good old-fashioned rear-wheel drive, tough mechanicals and really cheap parts. Nothing looks cooler, you will be mistaken for a jobbing builder no trouble, it'll put hairs on chest and, if you're a bloke, you'll sprout bad tattoos.
Absolutely everything. Rust is the biggest problem, as a knackered engine, suspension gearbox can easily be bolted in, but once the rear deck rots through then you are in trouble and you will have to run away. It will have had 23 previous owners, but that's perfectly normal.
Small ads, especially in newsagents windows, parked up by the side of the road with a cardboard price sticker under the wiper. You will probably buy from a retired builder or something rather than a little old lady who used it for the cat food run.
£100 gets you a rust-bucket P100 with a tiny MOT.
