
It's the one you can take on the school and then drive onto the building site. It is spot-on, image-wise (rugged style and real ability) and has just reached the point when you can start to buy the earlier examples for ordinary hatchback money.
The fact is that some have never been remotely off-road and are pretty much as new. Mostly, though, they will have belonged to builders and farmers, so check the suspension and brakes for undue wear and tear and you really will have to get underneath to look for off-road damage.
Mitsubishi dealer have them with decent Red Zebra warranties, but there are plenty in private classifieds and also importers. They do come up at specialists 4 x 4 auctions too although the problem is private buyers like us push up the prices too high so you would be better buying with a warranty.
