This is a proper hot hatch that may sound like a bus route, but not only looks the part, but certainly handles like the focused road rocket it clearly is. The 172 is now great value - although you'll pay about £1,000 to trade up to a 182.
Not a huge amount, but a proper service history would be nice. Electricals are not the most reliable, with little niggly faults range from electric windows to immobilisers.
Careful private owners are ideal, as are specialist sports car dealers. There never seem to be many at Renault dealers.
