Super soaraway 70s styling inside and out, but it's a finely-honed performance car that gets to 60mph in 4.7 seconds and also sticks to corners. Shabby examples are a liability though and will test your patience and bank balance. Buy only the very best.
Temperamental, or just mental. Cambelt change needed every 24,000 miles; poorly repaired fibreglass bodywork; a worn clutch is expensive to fix. Abused examples have damaged gearboxes and driveshafts. Exhaust manifold can crack. Electrics can go mad.
Only from independent specialists and committed owners. You'll get in trouble when buying from someone who doesn't look as though they can afford to run it.
In the small ads with prices below £5,000 and perfect examples over £10K for the best of the mid-80s turbos. £7K should get one that won't break down too much.
