It still looks rather funky after all these years, plus it couldn't be easier to own and buy, or cheaper to run, thanks to very low insurance and service costs. Fabulously nippy around town, it's even better when you stray on the open road, where it feels very grown up.
The Ka has had an impressive reliability record over the years and parts are very cheap. Suspension requires attention at high miles, but the biggest worry is going to be scruffy parking dents spoiling the cheeky looks.
There are large numbers around, which accounts for low prices. Car supermarkets have lots, often fairly new, and good independent car dealers have tidy examples. Best of all, buy from a private seller with a full history.
