It's a Porsche - not a rubbish one like a 924, or a stupidly complicated one like a 928. Just a well-engineered, nicely balanced coupe with a proper badge. Can be very cheap now.
Smoky engines with worn cylinders; badly repaired crash damage so that the headlights don't pop up; plus shot suspension and brakes.
Immaculate ones are with Porsche Club GB members and an increasingly small number of specialists who still take them seriously or who can just about buy decent ones to resell. Otherwise, dogs in the paper or on eBay.
£1000 gets you a very early 944 which may be worth more in bits
£1500 gets you a very tired Series 1.
£2500 gets you an OK example which may have some history
