Although the Note is based on the Micra supermini, it has a longer wheelbase than a VW Golf, so has plenty of room in the back even for adults. The rear seats move backwards and forwards and fold down to create a big boot, plus there are some neat cubbies dotted around the cabin - but that's about as complex as the Note gets.
This is actually a good thing, as most of the trick functions that some other so-called family cars perform usually get forgotten within five minutes of reading the manual. It's also pretty good to drive, with the 1.6 petrol giving the most smiles per mile.
If you've got a growing family, the Note is probably all the car you'd ever need.
