Revised for 2005, the class-leading and timeless-looking Boxster remains the benchmark by which all sports cars are judged. It's so good, in fact, that it makes a 911 cabriolet look superfluous.
As with the 911, design changes are evolutionary rather than revolutionary, but development has been extensive, with 80 percent new components. Beautiful handling, impeccable build quality, inspirational engine performance from either "entry-level" 240bhp 2.7 or 280bhp 3.2 S and quicker than ever before.
Safety kit excellent with head airbags, an immensely strong structure and sophisticated electronic aids, and cabin wonderfully comfortable. Expensive but worth every penny.
