The Lexus GS has in the past been designed specifically for the US market, leaving it out of its depth in Europe against stalwarts such as the 5-Series and E-Class. The Mk3 GS, though, has been designed with Europe in mind.
Only two engines are offered, but both allow for effortless and refined cruising if not an all-out sporty drive. No diesel is available but Lexus has introduced a hybrid petrol-electric version.
Inherently reliable, well-equipped as standard and one of the best performing in crash tests, the GS makes a strong case for itself against the German competition.
