Designed to deliver on all kinds of road surfaces, the XC90 is one of the best all-round Sport Utility Vehicles on the market. With 218mm of ground clearance, it's quite capable of handling itself in rough conditions, yet because its AWD (all-wheel-drive) system with Instant Traction^TM is electronically controlled, it only delivers power to the rear wheels when they need it - which offers genuine fuel economy benefits over many permanent four-wheel-drive models.

And whether being driven on or off the beaten track, the XC90's engine range gives effortless power in the refined, economical manner one would expect from a Volvo. Its 2.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine offers a healthy 210bhp, there's 185bhp on tap from the new D5 turbodiesel, while the top of the range T6 turbocharged petrol engine delivers an impressive 272bhp.
