As befits a product from one of the world's most environmentally conscious car manufacturers, the XC70 delivers impressive environmental care. The factory in which it's built is one of the world's cleanest car factories, while 85 percent of the XC70 is recyclable. Meanwhile, every new Volvo is backed by an environmental declaration verified by Lloyds Register Quality Assurance of London.
Like all Volvos, the XC70's interior is free from allergy-inducing emissions, while an active carbon filter makes sure that dust, pollen and exhaust particles don't enter the cabin. The Electronic Climate Control's Air Quality System, meanwhile, shuts the air inlets if the air inside is too polluted - in traffic or tunnels, for example. And the efficiencies don't stop there either: Volvo five-cylinder engines can be specified with a catalytic coating called PremAir® on their radiator, which converts up to three quarters of harmful ground-level ozone into pure oxygen.
