The Volvo V70 is an estate in the truest sense. Its interior has been maximised for comfort and practicality, with ample room for five adults and a huge luggage space. Rear seat passengers get their own B-pillar air-vents and the rear backrests can be tilted through thirty degrees to improve rear seat comfort. The maximum load space is an impressive 1641 litres with the rear seats folded, while the front seat back can also be folded to accommodate loads of up to 3.09m in length. Two additional rear facing seats are optional.
But there's more to the V70 than just estate car practicality. Its interior is also extremely stylish, drawing on Scandinavian themes in the simplicity and elegance of its layout. It majors on comfort, too, with seats that have been acclaimed as some of the best in the business, and with cabin ergonomics and stereo systems that are second to none.
Gone are the days when Volvo estates were purely about practicality, neglecting form in the pursuit of function, and the V70, with its instantly recognisable V-shaped bonnet, low grille and prominent shoulder lines, disguises its practical intent well. Although it has a near vertical rear tailgate to maximise interior volume, the car's rounded edges hide its voluminous nature. Instead, the stylish design reflects the dynamic advances in Volvo's design over the last fifteen years.
