Volvo is one of the most committed of all carmakers to protecting the environment, which is why it has a 'clean inside and out' programme, ensuring that its products are as healthy as possible for their users, while having the minimal possible impact on the environment.
All S60s have an air-filter that prevents dust, pollen and exhaust particles reaching the interior, while the Air Quality System, also standard on S60s, ensures that the air inside the cabin is cleaner than that on the outside. Interior materials comply with Öko-tex standards and are therefore allergen and emissions-free, to reduce allergic or asthmatic reaction.
The S60 is built in one of the world's cleanest factories, while 85 percent of each car is able to be recycled. Meanwhile, Volvo's PremAir® system, available on all S60s, converts 75% of ground level ozone that passes through the radiator into oxygen. Several of the S60s engines also meet stringent ULEV (Ultra Low Emission Vehicle) requirements whilst diesel engines are Euro IV compliant.
