As you'd expect, the Volvo V50 has a range of advanced, efficient engines that meet latest emissions regulations. But few cars can claim, as the V50 can, to clean the air as it goes, thanks to the unique Premair© system (fitted to 5 cylinder engines). This is a catalytic coating on the radiator, that converts up to 75 percent of ozone passing through it into oxygen, effectively cleaning other cars' emissions.
Inside, a Volvo V50 is a healthy place to travel, too. Not only does its IAQS (Interior Air Quality System) have an active filter to remove impurities and odours from the outside air, but its interior materials conform to an Oeko-Tex standard, ensuring that all textiles and leathers used in the interior are hypo-allergenic and do not emit hazardous substances like some car interiors do.
