100 Greatest Cars
Nominees
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
Saab 92 - 1950   This was the Scandinavian Beetle, the car that put the common Swede on the road. It was a hugely advanced piece of work, though, and very aerodynamic (Saabs 90 and 91 were actually aircraft).
Saab 99 Turbo - 1977   One of the earliest and most potent turbocharged cars to come to the mass market, the 99 Turbo was an unlikely but impressive road rocket, establishing the front-drive turbocharged formula the Swedes made their own.
Smart Fortwo - current   Taking two seats and sticking a tiny engine behind the passengers is a brilliant concept; a motor industry revolution for the first time in years. The only car you can park sideways between parking bays, too.
Subaru Impreza Turbo - current   The nearest thing to a road-legal World Rally Championship car. Point to point, just about unbeatable.
