How to Customise a Hair Accessory

Step One: Measure

All you need is a plain headband and some feathers to create this look. Measure the length of trimming to place on top of the headband - this should be roughly 20cm in length.

Step Two: Stitch

Using a plain fabric covered headband find a matching colour thread. Thread a needle and using a running stitch attach the strip of feather trimming on the headband. If the headband is plastic, use a strong glue to hold it in place.

Step Three: Add Feathers

Place a separate feather to cover the stitch line and pin in place to begin tacking down. Match the thread to a prominent colour in the feathers; thread a needle and tie a knot in the end feather headband

Step Four: Glue

To finish tack both ends of the feather down on the headband. Tie a knot and trim away any excess thread.
