How to Customise a Top

Bored of that plain white T-shirt? Pull it out the depths of the wardrobe and get crafty! Embellish your top with some beads or chains for an instant style update. Follow these simple steps to customise your T-shirt from boring to bling in a matter of minutes

Step One: Hang

Place the T-shirt on a clean, flat surface, or a dressmakers mannequin if you've got one.

Step Two: Measure

Measure your chosen trimmings and chains by draping them loosely over the front of the garment and over around the neck.

Step Three: Pin

Pin the different chain lengths in place. Take a moment to see how the finished garment will look - you can add as much or as little embellishment as you like.

Step Four: Sew

Thread a needle with cotton the same colour as the T-shirt and tie a knot at the end. Sew the ends of the chains on either side of the neck/shoulder seam. Once securely attached, tie a knot to finish the tacking and cut the excess thread.
