Sam and James's Wedding

Sam and James met on a flight when Sam was working as cabin crew. James had always been sure that marriage wasn't for him - until the day he fell head over heels in love with her.

Because Sam is Catholic and has been married before, she can't marry James in the church - so what better place to start their new life than at the Wedding House? Alice in Wonderland was Sam's childhood passion, and the couple have chosen it as the inspiration for their wedding.

The Theme

Wedding planner Chris Fitchew has pulled all the stops out, transforming the ceremony room into Wonderland with giant flowers, toadstools and a tea party.

The Dress

Sam's not a conventional woman, so rather than going for the classic blue Alice pinafore, stylist Carol Spenser has chosen something sexier - a ruffled skirt and bustier with a jacket and striped knee socks.

The Make-Up

James throws himself into the theme with a full-on Mad Hatter look. Wedding House make-up artist Liz Beckett gives him a white face with pink eyes, cheekbones and lips.

The Vows

James tells Sam, "I promise to love you and protect you, cherish you and respect you. Wherever you go, I'll follow, and wherever you stay, I'll be. I promise to look after you, to amuse you and to accept your love for David Attenborough above all other men. I promise to spend the rest of my life laughing with you, and only very rarely at you, even when you dance. I love you and want to share the rest of my life with you."

Sam says her wedding vows on Wedding House

Sam responds, "James, I promise to love and respect you. I will cherish your geekiness, although I'll never cease to find it amusing. I will help to choose your clothes for important events, and I'll try not to hold you responsible for anything horrible you might do in one of my dreams. From our first date I have loved you for your humour, kindness, intelligence and tolerance, mostly of me, and I promise to do so for as long as we both live." Aw.
