Finding the right skin care is a tricky business. Which is why we're big fans of skin care bloggers, who make the whole process much more fun. From busy mums to product junkies, we love their enthusiasm for the world of lotions and potions. Enjoy this list of our favourites - and don't blame us if your blow your shoe budget on moisturiser...
Beauty Mouth
Boy does this woman know her stuff... She's the daughter and the granddaughter of beauty industry women. She's trained in over 75 brands, a fully qualified facialist - and she has a terrifying amount of knowledge about all things beauty-related. And we mean all things. We defy you to visit her blog and not learn something. And if that's not enough - read her 4Beauty tips on treating acne.
Skin Deep Blogger
A new-ish kid on the block, this has become one of our go-to blogs for clear, no-nonsense reviews of skin care products, both luxury and budget. We love the intelligent, detailed descriptions, clear layout and smart design. Reading it is like flicking through the beauty section of a glossy magazine. Lovely.
A Model Recommends
Ever wished you had a glamorous international fashion model friend who you could ask about all the fabulous beauty products that she gets to use? Now you do. Thankfully, this model, Ruth Crilly, is a great writer and very lovely too, which makes her blog thoroughly readable and (be warned) rather addictive.
The Leg Room
Kate Shapland, The Leg Room's author, is beauty journalism royalty, columnist for The Telegraph and winner of coveted awards. She's also obsessed with body skin care, specifically legs: how to make them look fabulous and get rid of the dreaded cellulite. She takes no prisoners and is often laugh-out-loud entertaining. So if you don't want to go and read the Leg Room right now, we despair of you.
Lady of the Lane
If you've ever been reading about a new product and felt like shouting "CUT TO THE CHASE!", this is the blog for you. Charlie has a way of telling you exactly what you need to know about a product – and doesn't hold back if there's something she's not keen on. Honest, detailed, and from the point of view of a mum-of-two who hasn't got time for any nonsense. We love her.
The Truth About Beauty
If you're just as interested in the story behind your skin care as the results you get from it, this is the blog for you. Aly Hazlewood's intelligent but not at all preachy posts on skin care (as well as hair care, make-up and other bits and bobs) focus on the ethics of beauty products and the industry as a whole, and she often champions natural and organic beauty products too.
Skin Scrubs
A blog devoted to scrubs? We thought it was too good to be true, but it's not. The author is an American who lives in the UK called Annabella, and she blogs about face and body scrubs, skin care, and other bath and body-related products. And just to make her blog even more fabulous, she's got a penchant for vintage and kitsch styling...
Obsessive Cosmetics Disorder
Half the fun of being a lover of skin care products is the fun of either shopping, or ordering online, waiting for your parcel to arrive and then unwrapping it. Leanne and Nicola, this blog's two authors, totally get this, and their excitement and enthusiasm is infectious. They always have the scoop on the best deals, freebies and samples - it's worth subscribing to this blog for the news on QVC's special beauty days alone.
Healing Beauty
As every parent knows, once you have a baby the lines between your skin care and theirs get blurred... This blog is a must for mums on the go who want to choose multi-tasking, nasty-free products for themselves and their little ones, all on one, stylish, easy-to-navigate site. Lots of tips on pregnancy, health and getting back into shape, too.
Product Placement
If you appreciate a great turn of phrase and a razor-sharp wit, this is the blog for you. Eleanor Tucker is a professional writer (for 4Beauty, among others) and brings her irreverent sense of humour to the table when revealing her latest beauty discoveries. She doesn't review every new product willy-nilly - no, she won't mention it unless it's earned her stamp of approval - so you can be sure you'll always find quality here, in every sense.
For beauty obsessives, make-up blogs make great reading. Here's 4Beauty's round-up of the best
