I have a warm skin tone. Could you recommend a red lipstick that would suit me for under £10? Deinma
When choosing red lipstick for olive skin, go for an orange-based shade to suit your colouring. There are some really nice, affordable red lipsticks on the high street. Here are my top three.
Make-Up Academy Lipstick in shade 13 - £1
This lipstick feels soft and moisturising on the lips. You can tell it's highly pigmented because it stays on even after you've blotted a few times. It has a really vibrant colour - great value for only £1.
Sleek Make-Up True Colour Lipstick in shade OMG - £3.99
This lipstick is really creamy with a strong pigment. The shade is more orange than the Make-Up Academy version.
Revlon Matte Lipstick in shade Really Red - £7.49
This lipstick has a matte finish. Matte lipsticks can be a little drying but this one goes on quite smoothly. Make sure your lips are well moisturised before applying.
With all strong-coloured lipsticks, you'll get a better, longer lasting finish if you apply in thin layers using a lip brush. No7 and e.l.f Cosmetics do good, affordable lip brushes.
A lip liner will also help; choose one that's either the same colour as the lipstick, or close to your natural lip colour, and apply it all over the lip before the lipstick. This way when the lipstick fades, you'll still have a great finish.
